Help shape future neighbourhood cancer care:

Thank you for your interest in joining the Neighbourhood Cancer Simulation, designed and delivered by PPL, in partnership with RM Partners and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Neighbourhood Cancer Simulation is a two-day immersive experience bringing together colleagues from health, care, local government, the voluntary sector, and people affected by cancer. It provides a safe space to test how integrated neighbourhood working could operate in practice, exploring how decisions are made, how services connect, and how cancer care and recovery support can be delivered closer to home. 

Participants will work in a realistic neighbourhood environment, making decisions, responding to challenges, and seeing the impact of those decisions over time. This is not a conference or workshop; it is a practical, hands-on simulation designed to test how organisations and teams can work together to improve cancer care and recovery support.

Which role can I apply for? 
We are inviting participants to apply for one of three layers, depending on their experience and role:

Care and Coordination Layer
Frontline colleagues from health, social care, cancer services, community services and the voluntary sector. Participants will work directly with people affected by cancer, coordinating support and collaborating across organisations to respond to individual needs.

Operational Management Layer
Operational leaders, service managers, workforce leads and coordination roles. Participants will respond to changing demand, staffing pressures and service escalations, making decisions about coordination, prioritisation, workforce and flow.

Place Leadership Layer
Senior leaders and decision-makers from organisations including acute and mental health providers, local authorities, primary care, commissioners, Cancer Alliance teams and voluntary sector partners. Participants will receive data and feedback throughout the simulation and use this information to set priorities, allocate resources and shape how the system responds.
