In 2025, Dementia Action Alliance became an outreach initiative of The Eden Alternative, Inc. which is recognized by the IRS as a charitable 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. DAA was founded in 1996 as a national advocacy and education organization of people living with dementia, care partners, dementia specialists and other advocates and remains functioning in this capacity within The Eden Alternative.
