CPD Funding for Nurses & AHPs 2026-27

We are pleased to confirm that Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Funding for Practice Nurses (ANPs, GPNs & NAs) and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) has been secured for the current financial year 2026/27.
What funding is available?
Historically, eligible staff have been allocated up to £333 per person per yearf or CPD activities. While this funding has been confirmed for this year, we do not yet know whether it will continue beyond this year.
Important information about funding allocations
Although the allocation is stated as £333 per eligible staff member, the total funding received from NHSE does not cover all eligible staff employed across the borough workforce. The NWL Training Hub procures and coordinates the delivery of exclusive training sessions for the NWL GPN and AHP workforce. The programme of training is based on a staff survey of Training Needs Analysis and takes into account both individual and organisation-level training needs. The remainder budget is allocated to each borough for individual staff requests.
For 2025/26, we have received sufficient funding to support training for approximately 34 members of staff across our borough. This will be allocated on a first come basis to all eNurses (ANPs, GPNs, NAs) & AHPs.
What Training Can be funded?
- Group training opportunities: If there is sufficient demand for a particular topic, we may be able to organise a group training course, allowing more staff to benefit from the available funding.
