The session will cover: 
  • Introduction to heart disease,  basic  anatomy and physiology , risk factors , preventable / modifiable and non- modifiable risks
  • MI , angina , stroke and TIAs , heart failure looking at signs and symptoms – the types of investigations patients have to get their diagnosis
  • MECC opportunities and identification via NHS health checks etc and the wider team / support  available for all
  •  Taking an accurate ECG
  • Getting the room and the patient ready
  • Dos and don’ts
  • Pre attendance advice , correct positioning of electrodes , ensuring result readability , processes to follow re: who will interpret,  information given to patients
This training if for HCAs.
GPAs, pharmacists, nurses can attend if they require this training
