Enhanced Services Performing ECG Training
The session will cover:
- Introduction to heart disease, basic anatomy and physiology, risk factors, preventable / modifiable and non- modifiable risks
- MI, angina, stroke and TIAs, heart failure looking at signs and symptoms – the types of investigations patients have to get their diagnosis
- MECC opportunities and identification via NHS health checks etc and the wider team / support available for all
- Taking an accurate ECG
- Getting the room and the patient ready
- Dos and don’ts
- Pre attendance advice, correct positioning of electrodes, ensuring result readability, processes to follow re: who will interpret, information given to patients
This training if for HCAs.
