Learning from Oliver’s Story: a series of webinars for NWL colleagues
To help raise awareness and understanding of the importance of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism and why it was created, we’re hosting a series of three webinars targeted at colleagues working in GP surgery and PCN teams across North West London.  Paula McGowan OBE will join each webinar to share Oliver’s story, and this will be followed by a local element focussed on Learning Disability and Autism in NWL.

Learning from Oliver’s story: a webinar for clinicians
Wednesday 8th May 2024, 10:00-12:00

This webinar is targeted at clinical colleagues working as part of a GP surgery or PCN team in North West London. Paula McGowan OBE will share Oliver’s story and help colleagues begin thinking about how they can put steps in place to prevent avoidable deaths like Oliver’s. We will also explore the importance of quality when completing learning disability health checks and consider ways to improve clinical support for patients with autism.

Attendees will be able to request a certificate of attendance at the end of the webinar.

PLEASE NOTE
These webinars are not part of the formal Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training. As Part 2 is not yet available (Part 1 is the eLearning, Part 2 is the interactive webinar or one day training based on the Tier a staff member falls under), attending these local additional webinars may assist with demonstrating to the CQC that you are fully committed to this learning, and we will issue colleagues with a local certificate of attendance. If you attend multiple webinars, you can claim a certificate for each provided you attend one complete webinar. Paula McGowan OBE’s presentation will be the same for each webinar and so you can join one full webinar, then any local elements for any other webinars of interest.

Please note that all the webinars will take place between 10:00-12:00 to accommodate speaker availability – we acknowledge that this isn’t always a good time for some colleagues, and therefore we will also record the webinars and you will be able to get a certificate of attendance.
